Parracombe Community Trust

Working for the residents of Parracombe and surrounding parishes.

What we do

Parracombe Community Trust is one of hundreds being set up across rural Britain. We are a Community Land Trust (CLT), a non-profit organisation incorporated as a Community Benefit Society. The Trust is owned and controlled by our members. As a community trust we are able to drive and manage key initiatives for our village and its residents. We currently have three core projects in our sights – a community shop, local needs affordable housing and redevelopment of our village hall.

In addition to our core projects,  we support and promote the arts, as well as community social events to raise funds for village projects. Volunteers help to maintain community assets with village clear up days and grass cutting at St.Petrock’s church.

Membership

Join the trust – we are a Community Benefit Society and membership not only entitles you to vote at our AGM but we will also keep you up to date with what’s going on in the village.

Volunteer

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Help to maintain Parracombe as an attractive village for residents and visitors. Or perhaps sign up to help with the Pavilion Stores and Café. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to informally meet other village residents.

Social hub for Parracombe

We are working hard to create a community store, café and post office that will provide the village with the essential services. It will be a place to shop, socialise and offer volunteering opportunities.

Local Needs Housing

One of our primary aims as a Community Land Trust is to provide affordable housing for people with local connections. We are currently working to deliver 6 local needs for rent units.

Village Hall

Parracombe village hall is the centre for community activities, from coffee mornings, fitness, social events, drama, music and more. The Trust lease the hall from the parish council and we are responsible for day to day running and its upkeep. Find out what’s going on.
