The Parracombe Village Hall is 90 years old and is in need of repair and renovation – as an absolute minimum, it needs a new roof and significant repair to the rear wall. The Village Hall Committee has received a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund to conduct a feasibility exercise of how best to improve the hall to better meet the needs of our community.
The first, and perhaps most important, step in this project is to properly understand the needs and desires of the community that uses the village hall. Having said that, the NLCF grant should enable us to do everything we need to take the project through planning and get to the stage of selecting a building contractor to work with us. Separately, we will of course have a major fund raising exercise to undertake in order to raise the funds for the actual building work to be delivered.
This page will chronicle the process we have followed and all the activities we have undertaken since the project began in spring 2022.
