Results of Consultation – 24th & 26th September 2023

Village Hall

As a result of the consultation sessions held during late September, Parracombe Parish Council and Parracombe Community Trust have both voted unanimously to support the preparation and submission of a planning application for the development of Parracombe Village Hall.

We held “drop-in” sessions at the village hall on Sunday 24th (3pm to 6pm) and Tuesday 26th September (6pm to 9pm) when anyone with an interest in the future development of the hall was able to view the proposed scheme details, ask questions of members of the working group, and provide feedback and comment on the form provided. We also had the scheme on display at Pilates on Monday 25th, the coffee morning on Wednesday 27th and Art Club on Thursday 28th.

A total of 89 feedback forms were submitted which represents a very good take-up. The boxes ticked on the feedback forms were as follows:

I support the proposed scheme74
I support the proposed scheme but have the following comments15
I do NOT support the proposed scheme0
September 2023 drop-in sessions

The same questions were asked during drop-in sessions in December 2022 when the scheme was essentially the same but less well developed in terms of the detail. The results then were as follows:

I support the proposed scheme46
I support the proposed scheme but have the following comments19
I do NOT support the proposed scheme0
December 2022 drop-in sessions

There were some people who completed forms in December who did not attend in September, and vice versa. A total of 110 individuals have completed forms over the two events.

The VH Development Working Group (consisting of Nick Backhouse, Dave Billingham, Martin Hallam, Harry Harrison, Jaye Jones, John Minns, Alison Smith & Simon Young) will make contact directly with all people who made comments in an attempt to address any concerns. See this PDF for all comments made.
